Spoiler Free Review
I picked up this book as this was a “Goodreads Recommends 2019” and was excited to find it in a library nearby!
The summary did seem promising but the story itself fell flat.
I’ll be honest, this isn’t usually the kind of books I read. This was supposed to be a story of two kids ending the last day at the Pumpkin patch with a bang!
It sure was a bang, but I didn’t expect it to be about a book about finding teenage love which is evident from the first page!
I still wanted to know how the book would end in the beginning though, but somewhere in between it went off tangent and seemed like the story was being dragged for the sake of it.
The dialogs were witty and the characters were amazing! A book with a wholesome ending, but I still feel that the characters deserve a better story!
I also do have to mention the deep moments where I could relate to the characters were beautifully penned! Those were the moments that kept me going until I finished the book.
What I really liked about the book: The art! Hands down. The art wins! The book also has multiple layers of wisdom at a few places which is totally worth reading.
What I didn’t like about the book: The story seemed to drag and felt like, it was there just to keep the book going. I felt like this book could’ve been better off as a 150 pager. But then, I also understand this is how the author envisioned the story and respect the fact that this is a story in which a lot of hard work was put it. Guess, this wasn’t for me.
This is a book that anyone who’s into teenage stories and coming of age tales. It is also for those who would like a light read that they can finish in a couple of hours or a single sitting.
I Would Rate it:
